Well I know that #selifishsewingweek is technically over, but … rules are meant to be broken {okay, really I don’t believe this, I’m a TOTAL rule follower in real life} + let’s keep this party going!
So today I’m featuring MY {Mammoth} Linden Sweatshirt.
I say MINE because this is THE pattern to be stitching and EVERYONE has a #lindedsweatshirt.
In fact, I bought fabric + the pattern many months ago {note to self – stop buying fabric & patterns when you don’t have time to sew them!!}.
The thing that made MY Linden happen in time for SSW was the fact that I was already sewing a sample Linden for RK.
I originally planned {and bought} sweatshirt knit for my Linden, but when RK requested I sew the sample using their Mammoth fabric {cut on the bias a’la Kelly of @cutcutsew} I did a quick scour of my stash only to find a 2YD cut of this black/gray herringbone Mammoth fabric. Destiny!! If you’re cutting one Linden you might as well cut two, right?!
Which resulted in this::
MY {Mammoth} Linden Sweatshirt
Linden Sweatshirt / Grainline Studio
View B / Size 6
Fabric: Mammoth Flannel + Laguna Jersey Heather
Modifications to the original pattern:
– I did not use a knit for the body + sleeves, but instead used flannel cut on the bias which gives it enough stretch
This pattern came together FAST and could be done entirely on the serger. I only used my sewing machine to top stitch the neckline + hem + cuffs (which is completely optional).
I can.not.wait to make a closet full!
